A tax only shopping trip

This past weekend, I decided to hit the mall and a few stores and get all my free items. Over the past few weeks I've been saving all the gift cards, percentage off coupons and loyalty coupons. I get in and get out so I don't spend $.

I only paid TAX for all of this. Saved $42.

From Target: 6 packages of Rayovac batteries and Little Debbie cupcakes, I had coupons for these making them free. I actually had 15 or so Rayovac coupons and wanted to run in and get the rest of the free batteries. I had several more coupons for free items but they were out: Beechnut Baby food-jars and rice.
From Kohls: $10 gift card received in the mail. $10 off $10. Bought a $20 (half off) Carters outfit for my son. Paid tax only.
Hallmark: Wooden stacker toy for my son's Christmas stocking. Used the $5 off $5 coupon. Tax only
VS: Free panty, received certificate in the mail.

Paid with spare change and cleaned out my purse in the meantime.

It pays to sign up at your favorite stores. Once you are on their mailing list, typically you will receive discounts or gift cards in the mail. Kohls and JCPenney send these out often. Bath and Body Works, Victoria's Secret, etc have lots of promotions to get you in the store as well.

Colin at hip2save.com made a great video this week concerning her frugal mall trip. Watch her below and see what she all found.
